Expert Sewer Camera Inspection in Philadelphia, PA

Philadelphia homes sit above some of the oldest sewer infrastructure in the country. Many residential laterals still run clay or cast-iron pipe installed decades ago. These materials crack under freeze-thaw cycles, shift with ground settlement, and let tree roots push through joints. A sewer camera inspection from Drain State Plumbing & Drain Cleaning puts a waterproof camera inside your line so we can see exactly what is happening without digging. We check for root intrusion, pipe separation, scale buildup, bellied sections, and blockages you cannot spot any other way. Row homes and older properties across Philadelphia are especially prone to these issues because standard home inspections rarely cover the sewer lateral. Whether you are buying a property, dealing with recurring backups, or noticing slow drains, a camera inspection gives you a clear picture of your pipe condition. Call Drain State Plumbing & Drain Cleaning to schedule your inspection in Philadelphia today.

Sewer Camera Inspection FAQ

Common questions about sewer camera inspection in Philadelphia, PA.

Yes, a camera inspection is strongly recommended for any Philadelphia property with older pipes. Standard home inspections rarely cover the sewer lateral, so hidden damage can go undetected until after closing.

A camera inspection can identify tree root intrusion, cracked or separated clay pipe, cast-iron scale buildup, bellied pipe sections, and grease blockages. These are common findings in Philadelphia's aging residential sewer lines.

Recurring drain backups, slow drains throughout the house, gurgling sounds, or sewage odors near floor drains are signs your line needs a closer look. Philadelphia homes with original clay or cast-iron laterals are at higher risk for these issues.

Yes, camera equipment locates the precise position and depth of a defect from above ground. This means any repair work in Philadelphia targets only the affected section, not the entire line.

No, the camera is inserted through an existing access point so your yard, sidewalk, and driveway stay intact. This matters especially for Philadelphia row homes where outdoor space and shared walkways are limited.

Homeowners with older clay or cast-iron pipes in Philadelphia should consider a camera inspection every few years or any time recurring drain problems appear. Properties near large trees or in areas with known ground movement may need more frequent checks.

In these days I appreciate a company that answers the phone and communicates when they're running behind schedule for an appt. George came out, assessed what needed to be done, reasonable price agreed upon, and returned same day with his team to repair two gas fuel line leaks. They put in the extra time to get it done properly, so my gas could be turned back on by PGW. Continued blessings. Thank you

This is the 2nd time i've hired them and I couldn't be happier. Both times for major issues. They are polite, respectful and do a wonderful job. I couldn't be happier. I will continue to hire them for all my plumbing issues.

Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ George and his partner were amazing. I'm a realtor and needed a plumber asap in Roxborough and the George was awesome and came out the following day. What was great about their service was that he was able to pin point what the issue was as soon as told him the area of leaking. His partner went upstairs as we went thru the basement to check the drain. They were able to identify the leak upstairs without opening up the ceiling and having another plumber say they had fixed the leak. They knew exactly what they were doing and truthfully very impressed with the attention to detail. I've been in the business for 7 years and haven't had a go to plumber, that will change today. I will be calling George! Thank you!!

Drain State was very professional and fast. Over the weekend my water heater broke and was leaking. I called Monday evening and they were able to replace my water heater that night.
