Expert Pipe Replacement in Philadelphia, PA

Pipe replacement in Philadelphia means working inside some of the oldest residential stock in the country. The multi-floor rowhouse makes up a large share of city housing, and most of these homes are more than 50 years old. Many still carry original galvanized steel supply lines that corrode from the inside out, cutting water flow and discoloring tap water over time. Cast iron drain lines in older rowhomes crack and shift with age. Shared party walls and tight basements add access challenges that require a plumber who knows how older Philadelphia buildings are put together. At Drain State Plumbing & Drain Cleaning, we assess the full pipe run before we pull anything out. We replace supply lines, drain lines, and sewer laterals serving single-family homes and multi-unit rowhouses across Philadelphia. If your water pressure has dropped, your water looks rusty, or you have a recurring leak, call us to schedule a pipe inspection today.

Pipe Replacement FAQ

Common questions about pipe replacement in Philadelphia, PA.

Replacement is the right call when pipes show repeated leaks, heavy corrosion, or restricted flow that a repair cannot fix. In Philadelphia rowhouses, galvanized steel lines that produce brown or rusty water are a strong sign the pipe interior has deteriorated beyond patching.

We replace supply lines, drain lines, and sewer laterals in Philadelphia residential properties. This covers galvanized steel, cast iron, and older pipe materials common in the city's rowhouse and multi-unit building stock.

In most Philadelphia rowhouses, some wall or floor access is needed to reach the pipe run. The scope depends on where the failing pipe is located and how the plumbing stack is routed through your specific home.

Yes, we replace sewer laterals connecting Philadelphia homes to the city sewer system. Older clay tile laterals in Philadelphia neighborhoods are known to crack, offset at joints, and collect root intrusion over time.

Yes, Philadelphia rowhouses present specific access challenges because of shared party walls, tight basements, and vertically stacked plumbing layouts. A plumber familiar with these building patterns can route new pipe without damaging structural elements or neighboring walls.

Low water pressure, discolored or rusty water, and frequent leaks at joints are the most common signs in Philadelphia homes. Galvanized steel pipes corrode from the inside out, so visible pipe condition alone does not always show the full extent of the problem.

In these days I appreciate a company that answers the phone and communicates when they're running behind schedule for an appt. George came out, assessed what needed to be done, reasonable price agreed upon, and returned same day with his team to repair two gas fuel line leaks. They put in the extra time to get it done properly, so my gas could be turned back on by PGW. Continued blessings. Thank you

This is the 2nd time i've hired them and I couldn't be happier. Both times for major issues. They are polite, respectful and do a wonderful job. I couldn't be happier. I will continue to hire them for all my plumbing issues.

Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ George and his partner were amazing. I'm a realtor and needed a plumber asap in Roxborough and the George was awesome and came out the following day. What was great about their service was that he was able to pin point what the issue was as soon as told him the area of leaking. His partner went upstairs as we went thru the basement to check the drain. They were able to identify the leak upstairs without opening up the ceiling and having another plumber say they had fixed the leak. They knew exactly what they were doing and truthfully very impressed with the attention to detail. I've been in the business for 7 years and haven't had a go to plumber, that will change today. I will be calling George! Thank you!!

Drain State was very professional and fast. Over the weekend my water heater broke and was leaking. I called Monday evening and they were able to replace my water heater that night.
